My printer is not showing in Tally

Updated 30 September 2026

Your Tally runs on our server, not on your PC — so when you print, the printer has to be passed from your computer into the cloud session. If it is missing from Tally’s printer list, one of the steps along that path is switched off.

Check these on your own computer first

  1. Print a test page from Notepad on your own PC. If that fails, the problem is the printer itself and nothing to do with us.
  2. Set the printer you want as the Windows default on your PC, before you connect. Sessions pick up the default.
  3. If you connect with the downloaded Airmax client, close it fully and open it again after setting the default — printers are collected at connection time, not while you are already inside.
  4. If the printer is switched off or has an error light, Windows hides it rather than showing it as broken. Clear the error first.

Then reconnect

Sign out of your cloud desktop properly — not just closing the window — and sign in again. A session that was already open when you fixed the printer will not pick it up.

If it is still missing

At that point the redirection setting on our side needs checking, which we have to do. Message us with your username and the printer’s make and model and we will look. It is usually a five-minute fix.

Still stuck? Message us with your username and what you are seeing — the exact wording of any error helps most.
