My pen drive or local drive is not showing

Updated 30 September 2026

Your cloud desktop is a different computer from the one in front of you, so your pen drive is not automatically there. It has to be passed across when you connect.

Plug it in BEFORE you connect

This is the usual cause. Drives are collected at the moment you sign in. A pen drive plugged in afterwards will not appear until you sign out and back in.

Where to look for it

  1. Inside the cloud desktop, open File Explorer (or the Airmax file manager).
  2. Look under "This PC" for a drive with your computer’s name after it, such as "USB Drive on DESKTOP-ABC".
  3. That is your pen drive. It is not on the C: or D: drive of the server — those belong to the server.

Moving Tally data on or off it

Copy and paste works normally between the two. For anything large, expect it to be slower than a local copy — it is travelling over your internet connection, so a 1 GB folder is a real wait, not a stall.
